Revert Base Features to Parametric

We started our model like we would in solidworks, with the major components each having their own assembly.  This worked fine as it allowed us to work on separate parts.

Last week I tried to break the links but I was getting an error stating that there were dependent constraints.  From what I can see this is a bit of a bug in Fusion that is being worked on.  All good.  One suggestion was to turn off Design Capture, which would let you break the links, then turn it back on.

Did this and it allowed me to break the links, but now all of my sketches have been re-associated into Base Features.  Now, to edit a sketch, I must find the base feature and edit it from there.  Thats a bit of a pain, but not too bad.  Is there any way to switch this back so that I can just right click on it in the browser to edit again?

The big problem is that when I edit the sketch, it doesn't update the parts that have reference sections in the sketch.

So basically our old work seems to be fairly bricked after turning design history on and off.  Is this right?  If so is my only option to revert a weeks work and do it again without breaking the links/find another way to break them?

To answer your last question, no, once you convert to direct modeling, there is no going back to parametric.  Definitely a one-way road.

But, I'm curious about why you wanted to break the links to your sub-components.  Was there some operation that you needed to do that you could not do when the components were in different designs?

Thanks,

Jeff
