Request: Generate All Configurations in a Configured Design

I'd like a way to force generation of all varients in a configured design.

Currently varients are generated the first time they're used as external components in an assembly. This means that if you are setting Insert columns in a configured assembly it takes a few seconds when selecting the varient to insert. This builds up and makes the process take much longer and feel less smooth.

It would be very helpful if I could do some kind of "Generate All" command similar to "Update All" which would go through and generate a latest version of each row in the configured design. This would be especially helpful where there are a lot of specific varients, all of which will be used. It would also be useful for being able to view and download configuration varients from the web portal even if they haven't been used yet.

Thanks for bringing this up.  We understand the problem users face now in certain workflows due to the fact that a configuration is generated only when it is inserted/consumed in other assemblies.  We would like to provide better ways to get around this problem.  Would you want to be selective in picking the configurations you want generated or would prefer to generate all of them?  Also, do you see a need for this in Fusion Team as well?

I would also very much welcome this opportunity, and for an additional reason.

When two arcs meet in a sketch, there are often stability issues when using configurations due to parameter changes. With the Sketcher, sophisticated profiles can be created very quickly and easily. However, I have to deal with this instability of the sketcher with workarounds, where I need much more time than creating the sketch. Therefore, it would be a welcome time saver if all configurations could be created with the push of a button, as I would then be able to check all configurations for correctness much faster.

Configurations - Sketch - Arcs or Auxiliary Circles

Hi Gautham, I think having both options would be good.

Something like being able to R-click a configuration in the configurations table and having "Generate" as an option alongside "Activate", "Rename", etc. would be good. Useful for parts with both high and low use versions. E.g. keeping 0.5", 1", and 2" tube parts generated whilest leaving the less common parts to be generated as needed.

Having a "Generate All" would be very useful for parts where all versions are high use like a fastener or seal.

Definitely in Teams as well please. That would make life much easier for non-CAD staff who need to work with or download a model.
