Rendering - tips for positioning the model & camera within the environment?

Hi,

 

I have a real estate model designed over some real topographical data. And, I have an environment file for that location, converted from Street View, and corresponding to that same location. So far so good, but now I want to marry them up - that is position the model relative to the camera used for the environment in the correct location, scale & orientation.

 

Ideally I would like mark the camera position (the camera center for the environment) on the model and zoom to that. Then set the scale and orientation if necessary. But no, I can't do that.

 

So does anyone have any tips for marrying up the model with the environment?

Fusion 360 isn't the right software for that.

As an architect, I always use specialized render softwares such as Lumion and D5 (D5 most of the time is better), as they can give you much more rendering options and controls, not to mention the materials are much better and more realistic there (plus more materials options).

Also, one huge disadvatage to use fusion for this task is the landscape, as you can't use landscape models in Fusion like trees or grass to maximize the reality of the renders if they were outdoor renders.

Thanks, I'll check out those packages. Does your answer also imply 'no, Fusion is a bit brain dead re viewpoints and rendering'. 

 

Meanwhile, I think Fusion could really benefit from a more accurate way of placing the viewpoint / camera. And in the 'rendering' environment, it seems to me it's a required feature.
