Rectangular pattern tool unexpected spacing

Sorry for the multiple posts, I was having some difficulty with this forum.

In the screencast I'm trying to use the pattern tool to make multiple copies of a component spaced apart at a certain distance. I select 'Spacing' for 'Distance Type' and 24" for the 'Distance'. After completing I check the distance with the measure tool and it is 23 51/64 instead of the expected 24". Can anyone explain why this is? Thanks.

One thing, you are measuring from edge to edge, this could be introducing an error.  Measure from face to face, that will give a perpendicular measure.  You  really need to attach your model for a definitive answer.

If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

Thanks! Model attached. I measured from face to face and got the same results.

Actually I modified the post. I didn’t realize you can add an attachment to a reply. I’m still getting used to this forum.

The reason you have the rectangular pattern issue is the fact that you  selected an "angled" construction line as your direction.  Take a look at the Screencast, easy fix.

Awesome! Good catch @jhackney1972. I’m very much a beginner and figured it had to be something I did wrong and it was really driving me crazy. Thank you!
