Hi Tony,

glad to hear that you are playing with simulations and that animation recording eventually worked for you on win 10.

Regards,

Josef

Hi Tony,

sorry to hear that, could you please install latest Chrome browser and make it a default for viewing web content if it helps with the issue you are having?

Regards,

Josef

Hi Tony,

Wrt unability to play the recorded avi: Please, make sure you don't use the default "Movies & Tv" win 10 application. Rather use "Windows Media Player". If you captured your video using Microsoft video 1 codec, you should be able to play your videos. Well, this codec is kind of outdated. Just annoying, we'll have to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Anyways, alternativelly you can install some of freely available codec packs and then you can just pick the codec by your preference. As long as they are supported by "Movies & Tv" app, you should be able to play your recordings.

There is a Configure button for the listed codecs. If codec installed properly, the compression type - or better to say codecs configuration - can be adjusted.

I've just tried Xvid MPEG-4 codec installed together with K-Lite codecs pack. Seems to be working nicely.

I've just reminded - I'm also having VLC installed. I wouldn't put a bet on that, but maybe VLC makes the difference.

Anyways - it's just not the nice behavior for the app, that tries to simplify things. We'll have to do something about that. The recording workflow simply seems to be too complex. That's all I can say/do right know. I can't predict, how this evolves, but I'll give you to know back.

Issue was brought to the wider audience on our developers meeting and conclusion is:

1. We'll fix this issue, so the recording works in the same manner as in Fusion360.Animations.

2. We'll try to push this fix into hotfix. Since it is a customer issue, it should make it, still "We'll try" doesn't mean, it will be there for sure. Depends on the decision of reviewers. Hotfix is expected to be released 26.9.2015.

3. If the fix doesn't make it into hotfix, it will come out with regular release. Regular release is expected to come out during November 2015.
