"failed to get owner occurrence transform"

I have a yellow error in sketch in my design history with the error "failed to get owner occurrence transform" which I haven't found any reference to online. There is nothing indicating how I can resolve the error from what I can see.

Pretty new to debugging models in Fusion but am I missing something? It isn't breaking my model at the moment.

Could the sketch be losing reference to the base plane? Can you try right clicking on the sketch in the timeline and selecting "Redefine  Sketch Plane" to see if this resolves the issue.

If it doesn't, this sounds like it may be similar in nature to the issue reported in the below link. Are you using Copy + Paste New by any chance?

Is it possible to reproduce this issue with a series of steps?

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Hey Nate,

Redefining sketch plane did work!

I would have tried this but redefining sketch plane seems to be only available through the feature tree and not from right clicking in the design history which is a little bit confusing (it would be nice to have continuity between the two spaces).

And yup Copy + Paste New is exactly how this part was created although I don't remember exactly when this error crept up although from the screencast in your post there it was likely identical.

Thanks for the help.

Greetings,

I have the same issue and no copy and or paste has been used in program at all. In fact, this problem occurred when I was deleting directly from the timeline - specifically deleted an entire section that was not dependent on one another as far as I could tell - that included sketches and other settings like fillet and extrude.

I attempted to redefine sketch plane and that didn't work since there is nothing wrong with the sketch plane and I see no reason why that would be affected.

Any other ideas on how to fix this?

Same problem here - I resized the outside box of my sketch and got this error. This was not a copy/paste new, it was a new sketch with items projected from previous sketch.  Redefining sketch plane did not fix it.

lots has changed since the original post.  you will get more responsive help if you start a new thread, ask your question, and post your model.

This happened to me when I was trying to split a face. What worked for me was to go into the "Surface" workspace before splitting the face. You can then switch back over to the "Solid" workspace afterwards.

This error message doesn't even make grammatical sense.  Th OP is correct in that there is no way for someone to reasonably troubleshoot this.  Can the the development team please find this message in their code and change it to something that will be helpful to the user?  Maybe there should be a review of all of the warnings to make sure users can have some hope of figuring out what is wrong.  In my case, I changed the dimension of a rectangle which was used to do a simple extrude.  This broke the timeline and nothing seems to resolve it.  With this message, I am flying blind trying to fix the issue.  This doesn't seem like a reasonable user-level message.  9 years later and it still exists.

a lot has changed.  Mostly, charging more for the same broken code.
