Quickly create multiple mesh section sketches?

Hello,

I often use scanned mesh data to create surfaces to then cut weird surfaces onto my solid models.  I was wondering if there was a quicker way to put a bunch of mesh section sketches on my mesh?  It's no big deal doing a couple but if I have to lay down a sketch every inch over several feet it gets very time consuming.

Alternatively if you know of a software that is better at creating solids using a mesh as a reference please let me know.

Try splitting the mesh with a pattern of planes. Convert each section to solid.

You can use the API to create planes: Fusion Help | Construction Plane API Sample | Autodesk

Hi! I agree with @etfrench. It is better to convert the mesh to Brep body before creating the sections and the sketches. Even if you may cut the mesh and create the sections. The geometry is necessarily complicated. More than likely the sketches would be too complicated to be used in modeling features.
