Quick way to hide bodies in order to select axis or planes?

Is there any button to hide bodies while we hover over them. This allows easy selection of axis, planes in commands like pattern.(Many other CAD software has this feature)

I find it tiresome to drop down the menu and then select axis.

Thanks

You do not have to hide the body or component to select an Axis or Plane.  Hover your cursor over the approximate area the Axis or Plane is located, hold your Left Mouse button down for a short time and then select it from the entity listing box.

Your answer is quite helpful in the case you demonstrated above. However, please let me know how can I do the same if I want to select x axis in mirror command when there is already body created in front of that axis.(Without going in drop-down on left). Whenever I try to select the x axis or any other axis like y or z by hovering over to the axis, fusion highlights the body in front of it.
Thanks

You seem to have a particular model in mind for this condition.  I will ask you to attach it so I can work with the exact conditions.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

the drop down is the functionality intended to address this.  you could toggle your selection filters to only take work geometry, but that would be effort work than just using the long-left-click drop down.  is there a reason you don't want to use the intended method?

(also fyi- you don't need to put an axis in a cylinder.  commands asking for an axis will accept the cylinder itself as the input)
