Hi guys im making an adapter which has 2 prongs from the main base but everytime it gets too the forward prongs it prints right upto that points and then fails everytime i have tried priting this out 5 times now used nearly half a spool of pla . I have even tried redoing the design 3 different times in different calibrations and still does the same at the same point. It fails everytime once its about to print the prongs has i have run the part even through 3d builder too see if i had any unknown errors it come up empty. So if anyone could help with this i would be extremely greatfull has i dont want to keep wasting pla trying to hope it will eventually print, so here is the link to my fusion 360 file hope you can help solve this thanks all https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsGFSPoAMiaYmz4ix18r7cUcTnOzScreenshot (1).png

Hi all if it is a slicer problem how do I remedy this has I now know its not the file whats wrong. I have tried doing another print and it did the same on that one, it seems to be doing it around the same height. So if anyone can talk me through how to fix this issue i would be extremely greatful. Also the link above is the fusion 360 file I added it to my one drive. Ok guys hope you can help me fix this issue so thanks in the meantime.

Which Slicer are you using?

Can be any number of things, most slicers have a simulator / preview, is that working?

How do you get the code file, to the printer?

so there are a few possibilities. 1. you have a programmed stop / halt at this height. 2. you have programmed a filement stop to change the color. 3. you have programmed a dwell time. 4. your end / emergency stop switch at the height responds.
5. the z-axis is mechanically blocked because a cable is caught. greetings mango

Got some time to check your file, it has errors, these internal surfaces are "corrupt" in some Slicers, including mine,

ymhait.PNG

I managed to modify it in Mesh Mixer, no errors in my Slicer

The resulting file is too big to attach,

so in MeshMixer I used, "Make Solid" tool, with high settings and exported a new copy.

Might help....

Does anybody see the link to the Fusion 360 file?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Reedited but don't know if this still has any errors ran it under 3d builder and said none but when printing same fail height. Hi dave you found errors on that one maybe no errors with this one my friend but still same problem I redid my buffer tube and got that one to print fully so all good with that one. Thanks guys for your ongoing help how do you find these errors,  I notice you guys tend to use meshmxier it that software used to check fusion files for errors. If so may have to study that software also but thanks guys.

Sketch1 is not fully defined and Timeline indicates an unresolved error?

Sketch2 is not fully defined and Timeline indicates an unresolved error?

Why are there multiple bodies?

Why are there Offsets of Extrude2 and 3?

All sketches are undefined?

If this were my model - I would start over from scratch and significantly simplify the design process.

Make use of symmetry about the Origin.

Only 1 simple (fully defined) sketch is required.

I would have lead-in for the threaded holes.

I would probably not bottom tap a hole.

I wonder about multiple curves at bottom.

Do you have an image if a similar real world part?

TheCADWhisperer_0-1629294382141.png

Bottom line - I would expect issues using this modeling technique.

Someone will come along and present a better technique.

One sketch.

Extrude overall of prongs as one prong.

Extrude-cut gap in the one prong to create two prongs.

Revolve the top.

Add the threaded Holes.

Chamfer the  threaded Holes.

Done!

@jonhutty

Notice that the attached part is modeled as one body rather than as multiple bodies.

Hi my friend yes I tried that before doing it in a single body that is why I did this one in multiple bodies due too the other not printing and stopping at the same point has the rest. I have done it numerous ways and same result at the same point. If you goto my one drive file link at the top of the opened thread. You will see multiple files which I have tried this in different ways. So please take a look at them and let me know your thoughts thanks again for the assist has im completely stumped on why at the same point everytime with different models in all I think I did six.

I don’t think it is in Fusion.  Stick to single body construction to fix the internal walls, they create the first problem, file checkers did not find these.  In Fusion, Create a Section Analysis, drag the cutting plane around to see what you need to see.

MeshMixer is a Mesh program, has more tools for these STL files that are slowly being ported over to Fusion, whether you need it or not is another topic.  Meshmixer created artifacts, so not a silver bullet.

I would like to help, but not answering questions, holds me back.

What printer?

What Slicer?  Does Slicer Preview show the finished part?

How high is it when it stops?  Time taken till it stops?  Are you seeing the stoppage, any error message?

What method does the code get to the printer?

Can you attach the GCode file, if applicable.  Add to a Zip File, and attach it that way.....

You did not Attach the new *.f3d file here?

You did not Attach the new *.stl file here?

You did not answer @davebYYPCU questions, what printer, what slicer software?
