Problem with tangent and splines not forming continuous line

I have probably spent around 4+ hours messing with this an have redrawn it twice.

I need this specific spline to tangent to the circles given, and then be the same spline in all 12 places so that the profile is perfectly symetrical.

I have tried a variety of mirroring and trimming and not sure what else I could try.

I used a canvas to trace the spline closest to the center of the lens perspective. The other drawing dimensions are correct but the canvas can only be used on the spline I started because its closest to the camera lens centerpoint.
I have done this exact procedure at least 5 times in the past and though its usually a bit finicky I have never gotten stuck making it work for this long.

I need the whole profile to be a continuous selection with that exact spline repeated so that it can be offset

Any advice would be appreciated

Try using an ellipse instead of a spline:

Do you have physical measurements?  It may be parallax from the camera angle that makes it look elliptical.

That is a good idea, I am going to try that and see if I can get the elipse to match the curvature. Going to mess with it more today.

Measure with calipers.

For this design - image should only be used as a "sanity check" - as in, am I in the right ballpark or did I completely miss something.

 

Edit: And of course Bore Gauge or ID Micrometer gauge for the cylinder bore.  Calipers will not be accurate enough for that measurement.

How would I measure that curve with a tool and then locate it in the drawing?

The picture, as I explained is centered over that curve so that I can match it as close as possible and then mirror it and trim it to the remaining curves symetrically.

I explained that I was not using the whole drawing for alignment.

Am I not understanding your comment here?

I would never use a photo for things I can measure with tools. That doesnt make any sense.

Apologies for the late reply, its been a busy week.

That may be close to what I need. Im not extruding that final profile though. What we are doing is getting the existent profile of the wall of the cylinder jacket, then we mill that out offset about 0.025 on each side about .500 down. we then make a plate the same shape and press it into the cavity we milled. This creates a closed deck engine block which holds more power and the sleeves do not rick under load.

Ill give this a try shortly and report back.

I m still fighting this drawing.

I tried doing an elipse and i trimmed everything and still cannot select a continuous line and offset it. I dont understand why this needs to be so difficult for almost no real reason.

I mean I could copy the file posted here but That doesnt give me any idea on how to not run into this issue next time and then every other time.

You have end points which are not coincident as indicated by the white dots.  In this image, the left white dot is the arc center and the other is a non-coincident end point:

Tangent constraints are mostly missing.

I understand what you are saying but Ive done this method before and never had these issues. Is there a solution to that? because the end points will not allow me to make a coincident.

Ok Disregard my previous comment, I realized what you were saying as soon as I opened up Fusion. I have a continuous line now after trimming the ends while zooming in to see the area that didnt trim correctly.
