Problem with import DWG files

Good day.

I receive an .dwg file with sketch and meshbody from AutoCAD. But when I open it with Fusion the scale of meshbody is incorrect. After some research I saw that if objects are grouped into block, the scale of meshbody is incorrect. But without block it's correct. The screenshots are attached.

Also I can send these .dwg files if necessary.

Could you please suggest any solution?

Could you upload a sample file to this forum thread? You can e-mail me also if that is easier (nathan.chandler@autodesk.com).

Thanks,

I switched to DXF for most of thuse curve/mesh transferes because DWG in general give me issues.

DWG sometimes has features no all apps support and thus make DWG less usable while DXF does it well.

Good day, Nathan.

Sorry to disturb you again.

But is there any news about my problem with importing .dwg files?
Unfortunately, I can not refuse to use these .dwg files.

So sorry for the delay here! You are not disturbing at all! I can reproduce the behavior and have created report (FUS-19811) so that development will investigate the issue further for possible cause and resolution.

I can tell you that these files were not created natively in AutoCAD. You receive a warning about this when opening the files in AutoCAD. However, AutoCAD does appear to read them to be the same size (exploded and un-exploded). As soon as I hear anything, I'll be sure to post back here.

Can I ask what you are hoping to accomplish in Fusion 360? Perhaps, I can help to guide you around this issue?

Thank you for reporting this!

A lot of manufacturing data is exchanged via DWG 2D and 3D.

So getting them into Fusion would be a must so you could prevent somebody having to fully draw them again by hand from scratch.
