Problem using Motion Joints

I'm unable to make any of the Motion joints.

The Joint Dialog box has two tabs -- Position and Motion. Position joints work ok.

But when I select a motion joint and move the cursor over my parts I don't see any lines, circles etc. getting highlighted. Nor do those joint circle glyphs pop up. So basically I can't create a motion joint because I can't select any edge, cylinder, corner, circle, anything.

Thanks for any help.

p.s. I created a case with support, but then I came to this forum thinking I might've missed something obvious.

p.p.s. I thought I'd attach a Screencast, but at this time, I'm unable to download the screencast app.

I am unable to download the Screencast App. I go to the page below and click “Mac (dmg -24.87Mb)” and nothing happens. In fact, the same thing (i.e. nothing) happens with the Windows link.

Can you point me to a different link where I can download it?

All right, I was able to sort out my Screencast problems. Thank you for your patience.

The screencast describes where I'm running into problems with Motion Joints.

Hmm the screencast does not show up below -- it did during the preview. So I'm posting a link in the message itself. Hopefully this works.

Yes - crazy interface, old one worked ok.

Motion tab is Joint type selector only, (no Ok  button here)

After you select type of joint (Revolve (and later Offset))

you go back to the position tab to continue with normal selecting for position and the Ok button.

Might help...

Thanks so much! That solved my problem.

Awful UI design choice though. I imagine it will be corrected soon.
