Problem extending patch for splitting body

Hello,

I believe I have found a bug with the extend tool in the patch environment. I have created a hollow shell housing using the sculpt environment. Next I convert the model to B-rep. Now I want to split the body in half, so I create two patches (one on each side of the shell), and I create a third patch between them by lofting. This patch consists of two faces which where I believe the problem stems from. Next I will merge those two faces. Finally I attempt to extend the sides of this patch, which is where everything breaks. Pictures below.

I believe that this problem is really due to the fact that the original tspline mesh is not the greatest, there are quite a bit of star points and other features that make the mesh not the greatest.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Few points to consider.

Surface extend is a tricky business in general and particular when you want to extend a surface that is not simple like a square but

more organic in shape like yours.

Because Fusion does not show you the CV layout of surfaces merging patches and extending patches I find very tricky tools

to use in Fusion and I discourage you from doing so - particularly when TS geometry driven BREP surfaces are involved.

build sketches and profiles of those splitting surfaces or ring surface by hand.

it will be cleaner anyway and Fusion will run better.
