Print section analysis

Hi,

I have an assembly of a small glow plug engine.  In section analysis there is nice colouring of the sectioned edges, much easier to see what is where than in a section in the drawing from the model.  is it possible to save/print the section analysis image in some way, or is a screenshot the only option?

There isn't a direct Print option, but if you use the "Capture Image" command in the File menu, it will include the section analysis visuals as long as the Section Analysis is On at the time of the capture.  Then you can do what you want with the resulting image file.

Hi Tyler,

That solves that problem.  Maybe you have an idea about this other issue.  Attached is a screen grab of Fusion on my iMac 5K.  as you can see the history line is cut in half.  The only way it displays in full is if I go to full screen, which is not always convenient.  Any ideas?  BTW hiding the **** makes no difference, nor any display setting I can find in Fusion.

Hi Nick,

I don't see the image attachment.  Maybe try attaching again.

Something to try in the meantime: go to the File menu > View > Reset to Default Layout.

Ii have attached the image again  below as the reset didn’t fix the issue.  Is this the right way to send the image? It’s a .jpg.

I still don't see an attachment.  Are you using the section for attachments or are you trying to attach it as a photo in the text area?

I drag and dropped it before.   Now I have put it in the attachmet section.  I am using outlook for mac 365.  If this doesn’t work I can try mail instead but I can’t see why it would matter.  I have used the reply option at the foot of your email to send this.

Ok, that's the problem.  You can't send attachments in a reply to the email notifications.  You have to go to the Forums website and attach it to a reply there.  Just click the link in the email and it will take you to this thread in the forums.

Hi Tyler,

I'll try it from here.  As you can see the bottom half of the history line is cut off.  I am running an iMac 5K at the default resolution.  The only way i can get the whole history line to display is to go to full screen.  Collapsing the dock doesn't help. My problem or a general issue?

Hi Nick, that worked, I can see the image now.  Since you can see the whole timeline when you set the window to full screen, I would say it is caused by the position of the Fusion window when not in full screen.  Can you drag the window around?  Can you drag the corner to resize it?  I can create the same situation in Windows if I'm not in full screen and I drag the Fusion window down slightly (see my attachment).

No, that makes no difference.  i can drag and resize the window to any position and it stays the same except in full screen mode.

Hi Tyler,

I should have said that, unlike Windows, you can't drag anything behind the dock.  I have dragged the bottom edge of the Fuasion window as low as it will go and the top edge as high as it will go and it makes no difference.  The window changes in size but every thing in it scales - no scroll bars appear and the layout stays the same.

Ok, I tried this on my Macbook and I can drag the fusion window behind the dock (see attachment).  However, when I switch to full screen and then back, the Fusion window automatically resizes such that it is no longer behind the dock.  It also looks like you have a strange situation where you have two "Autodesk Fusion 360" title bars at the top.  The only thing I can think of next is to reinstall Fusion and see if that helps.

That’s fixed it.  I did a manual complete uninstall and the reinstallation works as expected.
