Print extruded text different color than base - how to design this in F360?

I am trying to design a very simple object in F360 to print on my Prusa MK2 multicolor printer via Slic3r (to generate the gcode) but have hit the wall.

I have a simple rectangular base with text extruded up from it (see attached). Fundamentally, I just want to print the base in one color and the text in another. I think I need to split the body between the base and the text where they join before saving it as a .stl file. I can then via slic3r assign different printer extruders to each of the base and text. But I am unable to split the object along the top face of the base (where the text joins). I get an "improper face/face intersection" error.

How do I create the text as a separate component or body and save this in the .stl? One thought I had is this issue might have to do with the fact that the text is not one connected body - the letters are all separate. But I tried grouping them together but it made no difference.

I need help with the technique to do this. Or ... am I going about this totally wrong?

Depends on the Slicing program, various ways inside the Slicers,

easiest, is to pause the print as soon as the top of the block is completed, change colour and resume.  Ok if you can edit Gcode.

In Fusion far more difficult, due to the separate letters, as you were thinking,

You can join the letters to the block but cutting them off defeats the purpose.

Might help...

OK, I figured this out....

When you extrude the text, use the Operation option "New Body", not the [default] "Join". Seems to position the text as the "Join" option but also does the obvious of creating new bodies of the text. This then enables you to select the text in slic3r and assign different extruders (colors) when printing those objects.

All good now!
