Premade Knurl Marks or Grove Marks - for Projection (maybe?)

Hi,

  I am designing a part that sits on the floor /ground. Of course PLA, especially if the print is nice, is rather slick. So I want to add knurl marks or slots to help prevent it from sliding. I have watched video tutorials..... but it seems like a lot of work.

  Since the bottom of my part is a rectangle....  can I get a drawing, or something "stock" that can be scaled.... and somehow project it onto the rectangle plane /surface, and then extrude to make the knurl or groove marks?

Thanks

AJ

Knurls are very simple to model, especially on flat surfaces.  Simply draw a line at an angle across the surface. Use the triangular pipe command to create one side of a knurl. Mirror it. Pattern those two features.

I wish it were that easy...... 10 minutes later..... couldn't get it to work

I drew a construction line 1/2 way through my plane /surface.....  but can't get the triangle pipe feature to mirror.....

what if I could just project and image onto the plane /surface and extrude to cut it

I just need SIMPLE

Look closely at the second image.  You will see the plane that is normal to the surface is selected as the mirror plane.

@akerezy

Are all of your sketches fully defined (no blue curves or white dots)?
