post processor on my mill

I am VERY new to Fusion 360, Just learning as of yesterday how to do a cad drawing and I did learn from NYC CNC youtube, watching the vid over and over but it did get me started...lol

My question now is How do I set up my post processor for my machine, I built my first cnc, it is a 5.5 foot by 8 foot cnc router and Plasma cutter, I use sheetcam for my cam and use mach3 plasma for the post processor on that  and now I just built my Enco mill as a cnc unit and want to use both using fusion 360 and really want to try the adaptive milling if possible, can anyone point me in the right direction how to do that?  Thank you for any help possible.   Should I post any files I have done to see if done right at all?

Hi,

Fusion 360 has a specific command to support Plasma cutter named as Waterjet. Go to Preferences dialog of Fusion and then in the Preview page, select the CAM item. Then you can see the Waterjet command in Ribbon tool bar. See the picture below.WLPC.png

After you finish any Plasma cutting operations, you can select the ones you want to generate Gcode and then click the Post Process command. In the Post Configuration list, you can see Plasma specific post processors like Omax.cps. Have a try to generate Gcode using it.

It'll be better if you can share your data here when you have specific problems. Just use the Export command under the File command and export your data to be .f3d/.f3z format and then attach them here.

Thanks,

Debbie

BTW, there is a specific CAM forum here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/computer-aided-machining-cam/bd-p/2070. Any CAM specific issue you have may get better reply on this site.

Thank you Debbie, I will try that with the Plasma table. Never thought too much about using the fusion cam on that but I have lots of problems with sheetcam so hopefully this will be a better way to go. Thanks again Debbie and I will try it tonight to see how it works on there.
