Possible Bug in Move Commad

I created a cylinder using Push/Pull. I then offset a plane by 5mm from the cylinder face. Then created a center oriented square sketch on the offset plane. Using the square I extrude-cut a square hole in the cylinder. When I later rotated the cylinder the square hole went away.

I used the offset plane for the square sketch that I used for cutting the square because it was impossible to select the square only for the pattern to cut, other features and sketches kept getting included in the selection and I could not isolate the square except by putting it on a separate plane.

How about using the face of the cylinder as your sketch plane and turn off all other sketches so just the square is visible and then you can use the Modify function with the cut option.

Thank you, I will try that. Is there a way to select the sketch you want by
clicking on the sketch in the browser rather than having to select it in
the graphic? Maybe there is a ctl/select or alt/select; I have tried just
selecting the name without success.

I have attached a screen shot of 4 sketches on 2 different planes.

If you look at the browser you can see that sketches 2 and 4 are selected but in the modelling area it looks like only sketch 4 is selected because it is blue.

If you could see the other side of sketch 2 you would see that that side is blue, so it is selected and you can tell by the blue outline.
