Possible Bug - Drag-n-drop file right after uploading causes Ultimate to hang

I have run into a problem that looks like a bug.  I uploaded an Inventor R6 3D file to my A360 account.  Almost immediately after the upload completed and the model showed in the project explorer, I dragged and dropped it into the design I was working on.  I got the square mouse icon with the model thumbnail image, but it showed a circle with a slash in the corner.  When I released the mouse, nothing happened.  The thumbnail follows my mouse around and nothing else is active.  It appears  that Ulitimate is hung up.

I tried gettting a screen shot to show the mouse cursor, but print screen does not show the thumbnail image that follows the mouse.

Update - I finally killed the Fusion360 process from the task manager.  When I brought F360 back, my file was missing at least an hour (maybe two hours) of work.  I had saved several times during that period.  I'm frustrated to say the least.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the issue to us. We may need more information to diagnost what's root cause:

1. What's vesion you are using? Fusion Window, Fusion MAC(COM), Fusion MAS(app store)?

2. Was it reproducible issue? If yes, it would be great if you can provide dataset and video to demo the issue?

3. If not, it would be nice if you can provide those log files which generated by Fusion 360. You can find them under the folder:

    C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\<Your account ID> - Fusion Windows

    /Users/<User>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/<Your account ID> - Fusion COM

    /Users/<User>/Library/Containers/com.autodesk.mas.fusion360/Data/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/<Your account ID> - Fusion MAS

4. Also please send error report out if you work in MAC OS. An Autodesk error dialog would be popped up in MAC to ask you send report when you force to quit.

5. If you work in Window, please help collect dump info when Fusion was hung. Please invoke "Window Task Manager" -> go to "Processes" page -> find "Fusion 360.exe" -> Right Mouse button on it -> Invoke "Create Dump File". The dump file would be a little big and take some time to collect.

Thanks,

Marshal

Marshal,

  • I'm running Fusion 360 Ultimate under Windows 7 64bit.
  • I have not been able reproduce the bug - I suspect it is very timing specific.
  • I have attached the only log from that time frame that mentions the file upload of "8020-3030-S-3030-S X 12.sat.zip"

If it happens again, I'll be happy to do a dump via the task manager and pass it on.
