[POSSIBLE BUG] - Create new drawing - 2.0.16.33

Anonymous

In my model - a wooden box - made of components and joints, seems not possible to insert any assembly or component into a new drawing.

Following the command rightclick -> "Create new drawing" on the whole assembly or on a component, a "new drawing" is generated in a new tab, but the assembly/component do not show up.

It is shown an error stating Unknown command: "00000000,0.00000000,1.0000000,0".

Please find enclosed the actual drawing for your own testing.

Hmm, out of curiosity have you tried restarting Fusion and restart your computer?

Also, please provide your hardware info + OS so official Fusion developer will be able to help you

Hello Omar,

thank you for your interest in the matter. As per your kind suggestion both Fusion and my system have been restarted now, unfortunately with little luck (nothing changes - still no parts or assembly are shown into the new drawing).

I attach to this message my F360 dignostic log file and sysinfo file. I am working on Windows 10, on a pretty recent ASUS machine.

Sincerely,

Giovanni, Italy

Hi JcstStud,

Was this working prior to the latest update?  I tried with your design and that worked for me - can you try with a very simple design, just a box, and verify whether the same issue exists?  Can you also try from the File menu (open the design > File menu > New Drawing from Design) and see if that works?

In the new drawing are you seeing a preview of the geometry (I'm guessing you're not but would like to verify)?  If you click to place the view and hit OK in the View properties dialog, do you see a red box show up (maybe in the lower left corner of the drawing) or nothing?

Thanks,
Chris

Good morning Chris,

thank you for your comment and request for further information.

I am really happy to hear that my model do not carry the issue with it and you can get drawings out of it. This leads me to think is that the issue is related to my local installation. I will now proceed to uninstall and reinstall F360 and will let you all know the outcome so that anyone else experiencing the same behaviour can find my case and compare it to what he's experiencing.

With reference to your questions I can confirm that with previuos versions I have generated drawings without any issue. Only following the last (or the second last - I am not sure) F360 update the problem emerged.

For the sake of records and perhaps if you or your colleagues want to review my current situation, I have uploaded a quick video going through each action you asked me to try.

I can confirm now that none of the them leads to a different result other than Unknown command: "00000000,0.00000000,1.0000000,0".

I am going to uninstall and reinstall now, so briefly I will be able to confirm if that has finally resolved the issue.

In the mean time let me thank you again for spending your time in replying to my post.

With best regards,

Giovanni

Unfortunately a fresh install, following a clean uninstall and reboot do not resolve the issue. The latest install shows the same problem.

I am a bit confused / puzzled now!

Any additional suggestion will be greately appreciated.

Thank you, Giovanni

Just wanted to update any person interested in the matter with the below update:

I have resolved the issue uninstalling F360 following each step detailed here (included the ones described under paragraph titled "Manually clear remaining program files"), and proceeding in re-installing F360.

Thank you all for contributing to this post.

Giovanni, Italy.

Well done!

Though I wonder what caused the problem in the first place, odd that some users ended up with such errors.

Hello Arne,

quite an annoying thing.

Just to double check, did you also follow the steps under the paragraph titled "Manually clear remaining program files"?

My situation was resolved as described in this thread. The only additional thing I made, was, after a the "clean uninstall", to reboot and have my registry cleaned with CCleaner. I repeated the registry cleaning unitl no more issues in the registry were reported by CCleaner.

Good luck,

Giovanni

@Anonymous, are you still having this issue? If so, could you try below and help us get a image?

1. In system properties dialog, add environment variable:   ACCORECONSOLE_VISIBLE=1

2. Create a drawing which will show up a accoreconsole.exe console window, please capture it and post here to help us check the issue.

@Anonymous, I'm sorry if you still have this issue, we haven't found a reproduce workflow internally of this issue. If suitable, could you also try delete the fusion doc registry values and reinstall Fusion? Thanks a lot!

Ctrl+R to open run dialog, type "regedit" to start registry table to delete item "FusionDoc" as below image shows.

Hi guys,

Same problem here. It's started just after latest update.

Clean uninstall with deleting files as instructed in solution and cleaning registry gives nothing.

That's first problem with fusion 360 on my side but really annoying. Fortunately, I need only cam module till weekend. Then the only way will probably be clean system reinstall..

Hi Piotr (and anyone else in the thread still hitting this problem),

Do you have any other Autodesk products installed on the system where this drawing problem is happening and if so can you provide a list of those products?  We heard of one case that looked like there may be a conflict with Inventor, just wondering if this is the same issue.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello,

Yes, actually there is inventor 2016 pro trial installed on this machine. It's been installed like 3 days before the last Fusion 360 update.

Piotr.

Hi Piotr,

Thanks for confirming that Inventor is installed.  Did you use/run Inventor before installing Fusion?  What OS are you on, Win7, 8?  Is the OS English or a different language?  We're trying to repro in-house, so far we haven't been able to, so trying to identify what else is different from our setup.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

Computer specs: Acer travelmate 5740: i5-430M, Intel HD graphics, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD.

OS installed: Windows 8.1 Polish upgraded to Windows 10 Pro Polish after Fusion 360 installation.

Fusion 360 was installed somewhere in June. Followed by Inventor View 2016 Polish installation. After that came Inventor pro 2016 Polish trial.

Inventor has never been on this machine before.

Hi Piotr,

Thanks for the information, so far we haven't been able to reproduce the problem in house.  If you still have Inventor and Fusion with drawings not working installed side by side, can you please contact me via email, at: christopher dot miller at autodesk dot com and we can either take a closer look or get some more details about the specifics of this install.

Thanks,
Chris
