Poor UI performance in OS X with models imported from SketchUp

I'm not sure if this is a more general OS X issue, but I've noticed that models uploaded from SketchUp files (*.skp) really bog down Fusion 360's UI, sometimes to the point of unusability. These models become polygon meshes, but it doesn't seem to take too many polygons to get Fusion 360 to choke.

For example, this model of a Nelson bench comes from the Herman-Miller web site. It's a simple rectilinear form of about 1,000 triangles. It's usable, but it does make the UI notably sluggish and onscreen manipulation is not smooth.

Here's a more catastrophic example: DeWalt 735 planer. This one has about 30k polygons. Once it's open, you only get a chance at UI operations every 5 seconds or so.

We are aware of this issue and are exploring some solutions. For now, if you have Sketchup, you can re-export those models as OBJ files and those will come in to Fusion in a much more performant way.

Thanks,

Bankim
