Hello all,

My Fusion 360 file crashed and now wont open while displaying this error.

"The path C:\Users\josep\OneDrive\Desktop\plane2.f3d is not a valid zip package."

I have looked through all the recovery folders, this is the only recovered file, and tried uploading the file (upload stalls)

Could someone take a look at this attached file please? Theres an entire days work there that id love to get back.

Thankyou.

The previous versions of the file have around 8 hours work missing, the
attached file is the only recovered file I had.

If you saved it anytime along the way, you should find a local file in the folder shown in the attached screen capture.  This path is only for a Windows based computer, if you are using a MAC, you can stop reading.  You will replace the first red arrow section with your User name.  When you get to the second red arrow entry, you will probably see two similar folders.  I am not sure if all users have the same named folder but of those two similar ones, select the one with the latest date. When you get to the last folder look for a F3D file with the similar name as the one that is corrupt, it will have a lot of extra characters but ignore those.  If you find the file, copy it to another folder on your hard drive and then use the File, Open command in Fusion 360 to open it.  It may not be the latest version but it may be the best one you can find.

Hi @josephacthomson .

I changed the extension and used zip file recovery software but could not read the file.

If you use the add-in published here, you can import only the shape data.

https://github.com/kantoku-code/Fusion360_Rescue_F3D

However, it was still incomplete because of an error on the way. The file is attached.

The cache folder that @jhackney1972  mentioned can be opened with the following text command.

Cache.open

I can only guess from the file name, but there may be better f3d files left.
