pasting from tabs

Hello!

I am having problem copying and bodies or components from one tab to another tab. Is it possible?

I want to insert some bults and nuts I have in one tab into the other motor design on the other tab.

Not only some bodies but some components too. Can I do this?

Hi,

Currenlty Copy and paste of a "Body" across the documents (i.e. within different tabs) is not available. But you can copy-paste body/ies within the same document across various components.

Also Copy-Paste of "Component/s" is available across the documents (tabs) as well as within the same design document.

If you want to copy body/ies across the documents, you can simply put them under one component and paste it to the other document.

You can refer following snaps for the simple steps.

RMB click on the desired body.

It will create a new component of it (YOu can have multiple bodies under one component). RMB click on this component and choose 'Copy'.

Open the new design document... and select 'Paste new'

Now you can move the pasted component where you want it.

I hope this will be helpful!

Please let us know in case of any issues. Thank you.

Hi jmac,

Thanks for reaching out. The Copy and Paste command are available from the context menu of corresponding node in the browser.

There are two types of design, history-based and history-free. If you see there is a timeline at the bottom of the application, it indicates a history-based design (aka parametric design).

As I tried, bodies can be copied and pasted from any design to history-free design, but cannot be pasted into other history-based design, while components can be copied and pasted freely.
