Hi,

Here's a simple shape. A disk with a rounded periphery. I don't know how to measure the overall diameter. I can't snap on the OD. I tried project also but project seems to only project the meeting of features - those black lines on the 3D objects.

Have you tried the Measurement tool ("I" key)?

Yes, measure is the first thing I try. Also used the shift key to get the snap points, but there aren't any.

If you have a plane that is on the centre line of the part you can use Project Intersect and select the body. If you need to create a plane you'll need to use Axis through cylinder and select the hole then plane at angle and select the axis.

When using the measure tool you can click and hold left mouse button, then select edge.

Here's a screencast demonstrating how to create a plane through the centre line of the part. File's attached.

John, I think you're selecting the bottom surface. I'm trying to get the OD of the toroid shaped fillet around the disks.

Yeah, I see that now. Sorry about that. Guess I need to get my eyes checked.

Your eyes and my finger. It's worn out from all the hopeful clicking.

This is one of those situations where Fusion's pretty display is not helpful, most CAD systems would leave a seam where the revolve starts\ends but Fusion hides it.

Here's an example from Rhino.
