Overconstrainted joint issues

I am a student very new to fusion, and I am coming from SOLIDWORKS. My teacher is having us design "syringe robots", which is all pretty straight forward stuff, but I'm having trouble with a particular joint. Basically, I am mating the bottom of the syringe through one dowel, and the top part, another. I am using revolve joints, so everything can move freely, except for the dowels that are inside of my main "robot" arm. It all works fine until I get both the top and bottom of the syringe jointed, then it just freaks out and everything overconstrains. I've kind of hit a road block here, so that's why it doesn't look anywhere near done. I'll link my model for anyone who can help, and sorry if it's something really easy/stupid. Made some progress on this so far, Component 9, with Rigid to Component 2, hangs in the air when turning Component 2.  Your swing arms, may work better if not being part of Component 2.

Joining the Syringe, moves Component 10, they should be joined to Component 2, before fixing the syringe.

Thank you, it was an issue of the components within components. I still don't know what actually should be a component within a component, so until I learn, I'll just make everything its own component because that seemed to work

Each individual part should be it.’s own component, and listed in the browser under the file name.  Your construction of component 2 is correct, many bodies joined.  The swinging arms moved out side the component 2, will work smoothly.

 

At your level, go with that, there are more advanced methods, but with it being a teaching project,  Hard for me to know whether your told to do it that way, or you are finding your own way to the end game.

 

If it were me i would

Rotate the flutes in the plunger to be parallel to the origin,

add Joint origins into the syringe, for top and bottom Revolve anchors.

set Joint (travel) limit in the syringe slider joint.

 

Remove all contact sets, 

otherwise you have reasonable processes.

okay, I think I see what you mean with your way. Anyways, I solved the syringe issue I was having now, but I have a new one, I was wondering if you could help me with. I put a large syringe at the base to try and push the revolving base, but the plunger won't slide into the syringe component when the syringe component is grounded, and I need it to be grounded.
