No crash recovery file offered in updated version

A couple of observations on the recent release.

First, it’s great to be able to hit “E” and get the extrude tool. I could get used to that.

I’ve had a couple of crashes, and I notice that I have not received a prompt for file recovery on restarting Fusion. That is something that worked very well in previous versions, and it has resulted in lost work. Where are the local files saved, if I need to try to force this issue?

Hi Ron,

We are makeing a lot of focused improvements in the recovery area. In the Sept update, there is a new command in the file menu to get to the recovery documents. Can you try that?

Thanks,

I looked at that option, and it appears to be grayed out- at least it doesn't do anything. Maybe because I had already re opened the file. Will we no longer get the system messages?

I see that the recovery popup is gone in the update (thank god) and i get this dialogue box instead. However the box stays on top of everything else so when switch to anything else like the movie or Chrome, the box is in the way while I wait five minutes for my file to open.

Yah, that file recovery dialog is what I have not seen in a couple of situations where I would have expected it. I had become complacent about saving because Fusion's file recovery worked so well.

Edit: After another crash (doing perfectly mundane stuff) I had no response when I selected the Recover Files option in the File menu. No error or message, just nothing.

Hmm, to me the recovery tool work most of the time but they're instances where it doesn't allow me to recover, I can't pin point exactly why but I know it happens. My guess is the recover documents is supposed to make the File Recovery option to appear?
