Okay everyone here is my issue see that rectangle with the big angle cut out of it how do I rotate that down so that the angle matches the axis which it is placed on?

I know I can select it and then right click and click move and then move the little disk to achieve a angle but I can not get it to be perfectly even with  that axis

Can anyone help me with this I am a total newbie and trying to learn thanks

Hello,

Have you taken a look at the align command?  It is under the modify dropdown and I think it is what you are looking for.  You can do a couple quick aligns to get the component or body setup the way you are looking for.  It looks like you are in parametrics so once you align the component you can then take a snapshot.  The align acts very similar to a move, but you can align it to other geometry instead of moving it based off of its current position.

If you are needed to lock in the position of a component or create a connection, this is where you would want to use a joint instead.

I hope this helps, and as always if you have any additional questions please ask.

Cheers,
