Newly created components colors are not unique

When I create a new component the color comes in the same as a previous component. They used to come in as different colors. Why is this happening? How do I force them to be unique?

In the picture below the sides are constrained together, I assume that's why the color is the same for them. but why did back come in the same color as the cross member?

Right click on one of the components in the browser and select Cycle Component Color (tou see it only when Component Color Cycling is enabled). Also check here.

Edit: keep in mind the number of colors is limited so eventually you'll have duplicate colors. In your case I am guessing (from your timeline) you copy pasted a component that's why you ended up with the same color.

I admit that it is a bit hard tell, but I believe that those are likely different colors.  There are 32 different colors in use for Component Color Cycling, and there are some that are pretty close to others.

There is a way to get another color, using the "Cycle Component Color" command on the context menu:

You cannot choose the color, but Fusion will pick another color, so just repeat that until you get one you like.

I've decided that turning off Component Color Cycling and assigning colors gives a much better representation of the model.  If the Appearance dialog would open in less than 60 seconds all would be perfect😁

Thanks this solved the issue. I am making a new design based on an old one. I am (and will continue) cutting and pasting a lot.

I am doing a bunch of adjusting as I go along, and I find the color coded timeline extremely helpful.

Welcome 🙂 By the way, I see some Moves in your timeline. I suggest getting into the habit of using Joints instead of Move.
