Newbie again: Can't select object edges to extend...

I've created a box, and now I'm trying to experiment with the Modify > Extend feature in the Patch space. The Extend dialog is prompting me to select an Edge. However, the Edges of my boxes aren't selectable. Am I confused about what extend is?

Hi @kdeuler,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community. 🙂

As that Extend command is from the Patch (Surface) workspace, it is expecting a Surface edge.
While the box you created is a Solid model. Everything you create from Patch workspace is a Surface.

If you just hover your mouse anywhere in the cavas while you are in Extend command, you can see a tooltip which would say "Select Surface Edges to Extend".
Though I understand it could be little confusing for the first time users.
