This has happened once before, many months back, in a completely different design- I just attributed it to a probable video driver issue, deleted the aberration and moved on.    This time,  it inspired giggling.   I'll be interested to hear if it performs the same on your system- otherwise, this seems a once-in-a-blue-moon bug.    I was just so amused I had to share.

I cannot reproduce it. Dangit.

For the Idea Station: Holding down the Alt key with a spline control handle selected allows you to move it away from its point. And its center point is able to be made coincident to any other point or usual snapping location if desired.
