Hi all,

As the title suggests. Is there any way to show the threaded models instead of the simplified texture? I've been searching and can't seem to find an option to make them modelled.

Cheers,

Matt

only way I know so far is to select the fastener and "edit in place"  then select the thread feature and enable the modeled threads there.

the annoying thing is that if you click on the fastener and "insert similar", or insert the sane screw from the library, you get a screw with an identical name, but once again the threads won't be modeled.  so you either do it again, or you copy paste the original that you edited, but then yo have to go thru some extra jointing steps that were automated when inserting from the library.

i don't know yet if you can have your own library so you can make global edits, I'm still messing with it

Well that isn't ideal. 2 steps forward one step back.

Oh well, fingers crossed the devs add a checkbox or something in a future update.

Regardless, thanks for the suggestion.

When you insert a screw into your assembly, it is developed, saved to your Fastener Library database and then inserted as a External Link file.  After placement, right click on one of your placed fasteners in the Browser and select Open.  Once open go to the Browser and under Document Settings at the top, change the Thread Display to Modeled.  Save the file and close.  When you go back to your assembly all the fasteners that match the size and length, will need to be update and will change thread type.

The best thing is since you edited an External file in your Database is that when you use the same fastener in your assembly or any other, the thread style will be modeled.

Note: Edit in Place will not give you the same options.

ah, thanks.  it didn't occur to me to "open" the model, I was thinking edit in place would be sufficient.  this works just fine.

Thanks for the reply John,

EDIT: Nevermind my original response. I didn't read your guide correctly. You are indeed right and I now have it working perfectly.

Between this update and your instructions, this is a huge time saver. Will marked as solved (though a simple check box would still be useful). wink wink devs.

Many thanks all!
