Need to recreate press fitting

I need to recreate this fitting only larger, I have all the dimensions and have tried importing it to a canvas and just sketching it, but that is not yielding the results I want. Does anyone know of a good tutorial or guidance? I am mainly struggling with the internal notches.

Thats just a straight spline. Draw the ID circle, and sketch ONE of the "square" cutouts. Extrude it, then do a Circular pattern on just the square cut.
