Need help creating a cone (like) shape to fit a non circular tube

Hey,

I'm really new to fusion 360 ( and CAD modelling in general) and i'm having a bit of trouble with this project i'm working on.

Basically, i need to design a model for a mode of transport and this needs to have aerodynamic cones on the front and rear.

This, is the cross section of the tube and below is the side on profile i would like the cone to take, however it needs to slope from the forward-most point to the tube. I tried to use the revolve command but as the cross section is not circular it didn't give the required shape.

Hopefully this makes sense, and thank you in advance for any help!

Hello, I might be being dim but can you provide a hand drawn or free form sketch of how the end product should look like ? Also helps if you can share your .f3d file.

Most likely the tool you need is Loft.  But, as @cyucelEJ2QP requested, it is hard to tell without a better idea of the shape you are trying to create.  Thanks

@jamiestboswells

You were sort of on the right track...

Break down the logic - Revolve only that geometry that is actually a revolution (see Attached).

You could add Rails for more control.

It looked interesting so I made one myself.

I made an elliptical profile in the middle and connected it with a loft.

Point Tangent is useful for loft to tip options.

Fine modeling can be adjusted later by changing the shape of the cross section.

I am a little lost in the operation, but I took a video of it.
