multi-sheet drawing usage

Somehow, I'm mystified by how one gets content onto a 2nd sheet of a drawing after adding the second (or 3rd, 4th, etc) sheet. Can someone enlighten me as to the mechanics of the action? No dialogue window appears when adding the new sheet, and it doesn't seem so intuitive at the moment. Any help appreciated --

Hello @mbostonsprint,  Once you add a sheet, you can click on the base view button on the toolbar to add a base view to that sheet. You will be able to see a base view preview attached to the cursor and a drawing view dialog to define attributes of base view as shown in mockup below.

 

Another option is to right click on the existing sheet and access Add sheet menu.

Doing this will prompt you with a dialog to define what sheet you want to add. You can even add a new sheet from template using this dialog.

Multi-sheet functionality is useful for an assembly: you can place the assembly's views and parts list in sheet1, place one component's views in sheet2, place another component's views in sheet3.....In one word, you can put all drawings of a product in one file.

To place one component's views in one sheet, you can go through following steps:

1. add a new sheet

2. place a base view. Notice that the full assembly is placed at this moment.

3. Please go to the Browser node, choose the component and right mouse button click to launch the context menu, run command "Suppress all except selected". 

(You can also Toggle Suppress by clicking check box before each component, to suppress components you don't want to display in this sheet)

4. Create projected view, section view or detailed view based on the base view.  All these views represent the component which is not suppressed.
