Moving sketches and objects at the same time

hi all,

since I am new to Fusion360, I just got another question.

I have a litte box to design there some sockets need to have holes in the housing. What I've done so far is to use a projection from part of the socket to get the holes into the housing. If I move the sketch, the holes will also move. Is it possible to combine sockets and holes to move them togethery? Even then heaving the need to change the size of the housing, I always reposition all outer/inner parts to match with the new size of the housing.

Speaking of Sketch. I used the pattern function to insert the second hole. The question is, how to keep both always centered (vertical) on easy way?

I tried to share my drawing but Fusion360 won't give my the link.

I've created a screencast recording (link below) that shows one possible way to update the mounting holes based upon the position of a component in a Fusion 360 design. In this instance, I used the Project to Sketch feature which will update the sketch geometry based upon 3D geometry. Please take a look and let me know if it helps or if there are any questions.

Just one question. Is there a chance to download the screencast for offline viewing?

I believe the current limitation is that MP4 and WEBM formats are available if you have recorded and uploaded the video, yourself. However, this feature does not work for other user’s published videos.

I am double checking with the Screeencast team and will let you know as soon as I have an update.

Thanks,

I have verified that my previous statement is correct.

You may consider heading over to the Screencast General Discussion forum to discuss this topic further.

Nathan,

That was an awesome screencast, one that I've bookmarked and will be going back to several times until it all sinks in - thanks!
