Move Sketch without dimensions?

Hi,

Is it possible to move a sketch that's not defined/dimensioned but keep it all grouped together?

I have a logo sketch that I'm trying to place on a part to engrave.  Naturally the logo sketch just has arbitrary dimensions.  I'd love to be able to place it/center it correctly on my part, if possible.

As is I can know how to move it around roughly in kind of a "good enough" way, but I'd love to figure out how to this better, if possible.

Hi,

This depends on whether the sketch has a connection to the origin that prevents it from moving.

File > export > save as f3d on local device > attach to post

It would be nice to be able to use your model and sketch but you have not supplied it.  Here is a video showing what I think you desire.

Select everything in the sketch except the Origin. You should then be able to move the geometry.

Better yet would be to put the sketch in a component, then you can freely move it about and/or use a joint to position it.

Putting it in a blank component is a good idea, I hadn't considered that as an idea.  I'll give that a shot and see if that helps thank you!

@jhackney1972 thanks for the video, that's basically what I've been doing so far, was just trying to see if there's a way to "accurately" place the logo so it's centered in the area where I'm doing the engraving.  

No perfect solution without dimensions I suppose but I'll make it work thanks guys

Add a point at the desired center.  Select all of the sketch geometry, excluding the origin.  Use Move/Point to Point (Assumes you have a destination point defined).

If you have the sketch in a component, you may need to create a joint origin at the desired center.
