Move origin not body

Hi

 

Is there a way to move a component origin without moving the body

 

I have several models with numerous components and i need need to move the origin on some components for exporting

I'm sorry people were in a philosophical discussion rather than helping you. You probably figured it out years ago but for future users:

 

If I understand correctly, you probably have components arranged in ways you like so this will be a bit awkward but you can do it.

 

Your parent has an origin and each component has an origin, by default it's the same one. One can move sketch object, bodies, and components, but not explicity origins as this would confuse the programs internal reference. If you move your bodies to the left a given amount within a component, and the move THE WHOLE COMPONENT to the right the same amount, you will have moved the component origin relative to the parent origin.

 

right click on the component in the drop down menu and click move.
