mirror without copy

I am trying to take a part that I have inserted into my design as a reference and mirror it, then get rid of the original referenced part using the "remove" function since I don't want to break the links. This is not possible and I wonder if there are any workarounds.

The easiest way to do this would be to have a tick box in the mirror function allowing one to mirror without copy, but Fusion 360 doesn't have that feature.

I think I'm trying to do the same thing as the original request, and can't find the answer here.

I've modelled some sheetmetal incorrectly (mirrored) and would like to solve that by a 'modify mirror' of the objects.
I can do a 'create mirror' of the objects, but that copies them. I do not want copies. Just mirror my objects with respect to the origin. Y/Z-plane.

Is that possible?
Still learning here.

after doing the mirror, use "remove" (not delete) on the original object.
