Move edge on plane into thin air

Hi guys

I created a sketch on the side face of my box. But the sketch needs to overhang the face (essentially move into thin air) for the later extrusion. How can I move the edge into the direction indicated but have it remain on the same plane?

Draw the line you need - will be on the plane.

Delete the unwanted one, or make it construction type.
