I am designing a solid body.
There is rectangular block on which several cylinders have been positions and to which they have been joined.
Is there a way to then MOVE one of the cylinders?
(I've tried various things, including going back along the timeline to the moment when the cylinder in question was created and joined to the ensemble, but with no luck.)

I suspect that you have used the Cylinder primitive to create this model. Today, these primitives are easy to create shapes with, but not so easy to go back and edit (especially the position). If you want a cylinder shape that is easier to edit, I would recommend creating a sketch on the face, drawing a circle, then using Extrude. This will leave you with a sketch in the timeline that can be edited to adjust the position.
