I'm sure this is something dumb but I can't figure it out. See video. Why when i select one sketch to be visible and  hover over it in the tree, it shows other sketches. When i edit and try and select items only in this sketch, other items get in the way from other sketches? It didn't used to do this in prior releases from what i recall or I somehow did something weird.

After 3 years I still feel like a newbie 🙂

that geometry is likely not from "other sketches", but is the result of having sketched on a face with the "autoproject geometry  on active sketch plane" option on, which is the default.  This option projects geometry from the face selected for a new sketch.  The geometry itself is hidden, but the profiles are shown

Invisible sketch items, strikes again.

It appears that you created that sketch on the face of a body. (Visible blue shading)

That face is projected into the sketch by your Preference to do so.

Fusion just hides the projected (detail) lines that are on the face, you are able to select in the window all those invisible sketch articles, because they are in your sketch.  In the old days you would see all the invisible articles as purple lines,

It's called Progress!

Might help....

Cool. How do I stop them from appearing when editing the sketch?

Turn off the Preference setting that brings them in.

Before you add anything to the sketch, window select all and delete.
