Motion Analysis

I am coming from SolidWorks and can't seem to find an equivalent tool. I just got done with the motion study tutorial but I cannot find any tools to let me study the acceleration/velocity of a desired point during a given motion. Am I just not able to find described tool or does this tool even exist?

I am not sure what the motion analysis is in SolidWorks, but I am guessing that it is a rigid body analysis to get the velocity, acceleration, etc. (sometimes referred to as a dynamic analysis). Such analyses are typically used for linkages and such.

You are correct that this capability does not exist in Fusion in that form. In some cases, you may be able to use the Event Simulation study type in the Simulation workspace to do a full analysis (stress, displacement, velocity, acceleration, etc) on the device, but that is a different approach to the problem.

If you want to explore the Simulation analysis, let us know what your gadget is, and we will be glad to offer advice.

You can use the Output Grapher on a Trace in Autodesk Inventor Dynamic Simulation to get the same functionality as SolidWorks advanced motion study.

There's not a rigid body dynamic analysis solver in Fusion 360 today. 

You can make a motion study in Fusion, but this is more about visualizing motion. You can't added traces or anything like that.

You can vote up the below ideas in the Ideastation to let the product management team know this is something you are interested in.

I cannot use Fusion in our curriculum without this functionality.
