Modifying title block attributes in fusion?

I'm wondering if a title block can have it's attributes customized in fusion. I don't mean filling in the info, but I mean defining which boxes exist, and where that info goes when filled out.

My boss has autocad, and I tried to import our company title block from there to fusion, but it refused to work. Something a chooks or something. I'm not familiar with how that works. The Title Block that I did end up getting to work I had to make in MasterCam. Now it's just a matter of getting fusion to play nice with it.

Is this possible, or is fusion going to make me fill-in each box manually with notes?

Hi jangempo,

We do not currently have an in-Fusion way to customize titleblocks or add attributes, but this is currently under development.  I am not familar with MasterCam, so I don't know if they have what AutoCAD would consider a compatible Attribute-type object.

I'm assuming the error you hit trying to use your company titleblock is the one about unsupported objects in the drawing.  In most cases blocks are the problem, either blocks that are still in the drawing (these need to be exploded) or other block definitions.  If you use PURGE in AutoCAD you should be able to get rid of these unused block definitions.

If you can send your company titleblock DWG to me (christopher.miller@autodesk.com) I'd be happy to take a look and see what entity (or entities) are causing the problem.  I agree that individual text objects are not an ideal way to go.

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you for replying, I'll run it by my boss tomorrow and see if he's ok with sending it to you. I'm sure there won't be an issue.
