Model with Imported DXF Sketch Crashes Fusion360

I have a 3D part model imported from a STEP file.  I have imported a DXF file as a sketch to use as a guide for features to be added.  The sketch needs to be rotated & moved but if I try to do anything with the sketch, Fusion360 crashes.

Hi @bryan_mcnatt,

That sounds frustrating. Smiley Frustrated

Can you possibly attach the f3d and/or the dxf and STEP file and I can see if I can get it to work?

If you can't, I would try to isolate what about the sketch causes it to crash - try moving only part of it, or upload/import it in another file and copy/paste it peice by peice, etc. I know it sounds tedius - but once you figure out why it crashes, you can find out how to fix it.

Thanks!

How are you importing the DXF, have you tried InsertDXF on the insert menu. Insert DXF will let you pick a plane or face for the drawing, it only works on 2d sketches though.

I dug into the DXF and started deleting items of no interest to me.  I kept iterating on the "delete items from DXF - import - crash - repeat" sequence until I gues I deleted the offending data/layer.  I now have the DXF sketch imported into the model and can use it as a reference for the features I need to add.

Thanks for the responses though.
