Mesh to sketch or body without mesh

Good Morning all

I`m looking for advice on how to transfer the attached 3d scan into something usable.

I`m basically need to make a sketch so that i can mount this element onto something.

The only opton to convert to body seems to work in "Faceted" method. the "prismatic" throws error.

With the Faceted method projecting sketch from this is alsmost impossiblem.

Also, how do i properly assign axis? a simported the element is at the anlge so cannot properly project surface.

Aligne the part to a sketch plane so you can draw the outline.

Extrude the profile.

Aligne a sketch plane on the top.

Draw the outline.

Extrude it to object.

Fillet the edges.

I would avoid using splines for such technical items. I am 100% convinced the initial design of this part this part did not involve a single spline and that it was designed using lines and arcs.

This actually worked quote well as I only need a flange to mount the scan to.
All i cannot do on my model is to allign the plane for some reason. It is not letting me to select it?
