mesh to brep triagulated mesh problem for cnc machining

ok so I have a OBJ file of a alligator, I bring the file into mesh work space I reduce the file down to 10000 faces where fusion is happy with it then I convert it to brep, heres the problem, My brep model with the triagles has a lot of corners with this profile of the alligator, so I have tried smoothing and several tools with fusion 360, I lose to much detail when trying to clean up the model when converted to brep, I make molds all I really need to do is cut the 3d model from a cube sold so I have a pocket of the alligator profile in a square cube, when I do this I have triangles in the cube so cam tries to machine triagles and I don't have a smoothe profile of machining, is there anyway to cut a mesh from a solid or am I missing something, I have tried this 10 different ways in fusion watched several videos and tutorial I am racking my brain it is such a simple one thing I want to do with this model but cant loose so much detail,as I said I have converted to brep tried reducing the face count density ect, please help

A couple of things come to mind.

1. Have you tried using something like InstantMeshes to convert the mesh to quad, convert to TSplines (in Fusion), and then convert to BRep? There is inevitably some loss of data, but the resulting form can be substantially smoother and typically the data loss is minor.

2. Another approach might be to use Meshmixer to do the cutting from the block shape. Then you could amp up your facet count using the refining tools and bring the resultant mold back into Fusion and machine the mesh (without conversion to BRep). With a high enough mesh resolution and a small enough smoothing tolerance on the machining, you end up with smooth tool paths.

It might help the forum to come up with a specific solution if we could get the mesh file (or a picture of the mesh with edges anyway)

You should be able to use the mesh directly in the CAM workspace without conversion. Not something I need so can't help but if you zip the obj file and attach I'll take a look.

here is a copy of the file I have tried converting in to brep and reducing the file down, all I need is the alligator to be a selectactable design in the model workspace under the combine option so I can cut the alligator from a cube to make a mold (reverse engineered) any help would be greatly appriciated

My advice is if you want to work with a mesh is use a program designed to work with meshes to build your mould blocks then import and machine the meshes without converting. @TrippyLighting might have some advice on a workflow.
