Hello everybody

I'm fairly new to this, I'm trying to create a new wooden material. Now when I load an image it keeps on making lines. Is there any way to avoid that?

Thank you all

You did not attach your wood image so it is pretty hard to troubleshoot your issue.  Make sure you zip it up before attaching it.  I assume it is a JPG so after zipping it use the Attachment section for a forum post.

Thank you

I have attached the zip file. I'm however not only trying to use just this image. I will run into this problem again.

Would you be able to explain to me how to do it and what to pay attention when I make a new material?

The problem is that it always tiles but if I uncheck tile then I have black in the image. I can't change the size to effect the image really. No idea what to do. Greatly appreciate your help

When you try to use a non-repeating image, like you are, it is hard to get a smooth appearance mainly due to the fact Appearance images usually repeat.  I will work on it but I make no promises.

OK, here is my best shot.  In my Screencast I mention, what I think, is the best way to configure this type of Appearance.  It is not a material, the material is Wood.  I have included in a zip file the image I create with the dark edges of the individual image spliced together and the Appearance Library export.

Just thought I would point out that Materials and Appearances are very different things in the CAD world.

I have a block of wood (material) that looks like gold (appearance) that I will sell to you at the price of the material gold.
