Material/Appearance problem in exported step model

Hello,

I modelled a water bottle and set the material as 'glass'. Bottle wall is now transparent.

I exported the model as 'step' file.

When I opened the step model, I found that the bottle wall is no more transparent, but it's opaque..

Is there a way to export a step file which has transparent wall?

No, unfortunately not. Appearance material settings are application specific and .STEP is a generic format that does not support appearance settings. It does support simple colors.
