Mark as Final

Hi,

Is it possible for us to mark our design file as "Final" just like Microsoft Word to prevent any further changes to the design file ?

Please advice, any help will be greatly appreciated.

you know I was thinking the same thing last night.  Is there a way of locking or freezing a file that is "Ok to build" or "release for production" and prevent any accidental changes?

inevitably, a design will change, based on fresh ideas, change in manufacturer, part availability etc.  but until then, a lock down would prevent errors creeping in.

any thought?

cheers

Mike

I'm not aware of a "Lock Design" or  "Final" option in the dashboard that controls life cycle state information. However, I think this would make a fantastic suggestion for an improvement in the Fusion 360 Ideastation

You could export an archive file. You could even upload the F3D or F3Z file into the Project Dashboard (via the web browser) and then the archive file would be stored in the cloud.

I hope these suggestions help! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi innovatenate,

IMHO, I think it would be the best to implement this feature in Fusion 360.

When we share the 3D design file with the other people, some of them might be fiddling with the design/model in Fusion 360. We might not be knowing what changes they have made to the file or we don't even want other people to be able to edit or make changes to the file....

Hence by marking the file as final would be great enough !! Smiley Happy
