Manually editing the parts list

I'm needing to change a qty of 1 to A/R. Is there a way yet to manually edit the BOM/Parts List? Is there a way to add stand alone BOM's/Parts Lists yet? I saw in another post that it's been on the road map for the last 3 years. Has there been any headway on this?

Hi @Craig_Crandall - Unfortunately, the answer is 'not yet' to both manually editing parts lists and creating 'stand-alone' parts lists. The best workaround today is likely using an empty table alongside your parts list and manually entering your quantities. I recognize this is far from ideal - the good news, is we've doubled-down on improving the Drawings workspace this year, have started to show this momentum over the last couple releases, and have Parts List overrides/editing scheduled for development later this year. We'll get to Parts Only parts lists a bit later. Thank you for your patience with us as we continue to build out the Drawings toolset. I'll circle back here with updates on these once they're release-ready.

Thanks Olivia,

The whole empty parts list is kind of a pain since you can't copy/paste the table from drawing to drawing. Large parts lists take forever to recreate every time. I would hope there would be a better way by now.

Again, thank you and I'm looking forward to the updates!

@olivia.struckman

It's been about 4 months. Has there been any more headway towards making parts lists manually editable or adding the ability to copy and paste parts list?

This was 2020 it is now 2024 and it appears to have no headway on this issue. As I am looking for answers with Fusion this seems to be the trend. It can not do the simplest task. I understand the concept of it being connected but it should also be manual edit. I starting to wonder if i picked the wrong 3d software.

Autodesk s/w developers suck!

So much for "doubling-down" on improvements:-/
